WHY I BECAME A THERAPIST

I believe we all deserve to feel seen, heard, and understood. As a therapist, I want to help you explore your pain, fears, and struggles so that you can begin to remove those barriers and start building a life of happiness and fulfillment. I will help you develop self-compassion and self-acceptance, and will walk alongside you as you discover your own truth and authentic self.

I BECAME A THERAPIST TO HELP PROVIDE SUPPORT FOR THOSE STRUGGLING AND TO BE AN AVENUE OF STRENGTH AND CHANGE FOR PEOPLE.

WHEN I WORK WITH CLIENTS, WE FOCUS ON IDENTITY AND THE TRUE SELF IN ORDER FOR THEM TO FIND HAPPINESS AND REACH THEIR HIGHEST POTENTIAL.

James Baldwin once wrote, “I believe that if we understood ourselves better, we would damage ourselves less.” Our truest and most authentic selves are always longing for us to notice them. Rooted in a self-compassionate approach, I aim to help you get to know your true self in all aspects of your life—relationships, personal life, work, etc., so that you may live a more honest, liberated, and fulfilling life.

When I work with clients, I incorporate THREE THINGS to create positive change:

authenticity | self-compassion | acceptance

My therapeutic style focuses on the client/therapist relationship, locating feelings within your body, and cultivating a space that honors all parts of your identity. With couples, I like to help each partner learn and understand the language of the other in order to lean into connection.

WHO I WORK WITH

I work with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, religious trauma, and major life changes, as well as couples facing relationship challenges. I also work with individuals and couples in the LGBTQ+ community, especially gender expansive and sexually diverse clients and their partners.

My area of expertise is helping individuals and couples work through the barriers to happiness and fulfillment.

DOES GOING TO THERAPY MEAN I'M BROKEN?

Absolutely not. Anyone can benefit from therapy as it can simply be a space to process your feelings about yourself, your family, and your life with a safe, third-party. Whether it be a space for you and your partner to work on communicating and connecting or a space to meet parts of yourself for the first time, therapy is here to help you know you, ultimately leaing to a more fulfilling life.
