WHY I BECAME A THERAPIST

I am passionate about helping others engage in a journey of self-awareness, introspection, and healing. I find beauty in supporting others as they do the “inner work” that enables clients to work through their challenges, reach their goals, and grow into the best version of themselves.

I BECAME A THERAPIST TO HELP YOU CONNECT AND DEVELOP YOUR TRUE, AUTHENTIC SENSE OF SELF.

THERAPY IS A SAFE SPACE WHERE YOU HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO DISCOVER AND EXPLORE THE DEEPEST PARTS OF YOURSELF. I SEE IT AS A TOOL YOU CAN USE TO IDENTIFY GOALS, IMPROVE YOUR RELATIONSHIPS, AND FACILITATE PERSONAL GROWTH AND HEALING.

As a therapist, the client-clinician relationship is very important to me; I strive to create a foundation of trust, comfort, and understanding for my clients. I work to support my clients by meeting them where they are at while also encouraging small changes and small steps outside their comfort zone! I also like to remind my clients that the healing process is a continuous journey – not a destination! Healing takes time, patience, and energy, and it is going to look different for everyone.

When I work with clients, I incorporate THREE THINGS to create positive change:

healing | growth | introspection

I find cognitive behavioral, person-centered, and psychodynamic therapies to be most effective in my work with my clients. I strive to create a supportive and empowering therapeutic environment where my clients feel heard, understood, and valued. I aim to guide clients toward their highest selves and help them notice and identify what their innate strengths are. My goal is to help my clients practice self-awareness, love, and compassion in order to nurture the relationship they have with themselves and others.

WHO I WORK WITH

I work with emerging adults and adults who are experiencing significant life transitions, relationship challenges, trauma or PTSD, depression and anxiety, or struggling to deal with shame and low self-esteem. I also work with men’s issues and LGBTQ+ issues.

My area of expertise is helping teens and adults shift their beliefs to find more happiness and fulfillment.

CAN PEOPLE REALLY CHANGE?

Although change can be scary, it is inevitable and happens all the time. Change happens all around us! Not knowing what’s ahead can be intimidating, and it is easy to give into that fear. However, great things come from embracing change and leaving your comfort zone! Learning to be comfortable with the uncomfortable, believing in yourself, and wanting the most for yourself are key elements to change. Change is a constant; allowing, accepting, and embracing it is up to you!
