THERAPY IS A VALUABLE TOOL TO UNDERSTAND OURSELVES AND WORK THROUGH THE DIFFICULTIES LIFE BRINGS.

WHY I WANT TO BE IN THE ROOM WITH YOU

Stories have always been important to me. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been drawn to listening to others and understanding the experiences that have shaped who they are.  I believe that when people feel heard without judgment, they can begin to create meaningful change and move toward a life that feels more authentic and fulfilling.

I AM BECOMING A THERAPIST BECAUSE I WANT TO HELP PEOPLE FEEL EMPOWERED TO USE THEIR VOICE, MAKE SENSE OF THEIR STORY, AND RECOGNIZE THAT THEIR PAST DOES NOT HAVE TO DEFINE THEIR FUTURE.

My goal as a therapist is to create a space where you feel genuinely seen, heard, and accepted for who you are. Whether you’re seeking therapy in Chicago for support with anxiety, trauma, life transitions, or relationship concerns, I strive to meet you where you are not where you feel like you “should” be.

In my work with clients, I draw from narrative therapy, DBT, motivational interviewing, trauma-informed care, and culturally responsive approaches to create therapy that reflects your unique experiences rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach. Together, we’ll work to better understand your story, build on your strengths, and create meaningful change that feels sustainable. My hope is that our sessions will leave you feeling more empowered, more connected to yourself, and more confident in your ability to navigate life’s challenges.

When I work with clients, I incorporate THREE THINGS to create positive change:

WARMth | CURIOSITY | ACCEPTANCE

When I work with clients, I lead with warmth, curiosity, and acceptance. I often bring a sense of humor into the therapy room because I believe laughter and genuine connection can help people feel more comfortable being themselves. As our relationship grows, I use nonjudgmental curiosity to better understand your experiences and kind honesty to help you gently challenge patterns that may no longer be serving you. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe sharing your story, knowing you’ll be met with empathy, respect, and encouragement every step of the way.

WHAT IF I AM AFRAID OF BEING VULNERABLE IN THERAPY?

That is totally okay! It’s completely understandable to feel reserved about letting someone you are just getting to know into the personal aspects of your life. I will always meet you where you are at and take the process at whatever pace you are comfortable with.

A LITTLE ABOUT ME & MY PROFESSIONAL SKILLS

  • I graduated from Tulane University in 2023 with my BA in Communications with a minor in Political Science.

  • I am working to be a Licensed Social Worker with the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
  • I am a clinical intern under supervision by LPTG’s Clinical Director, Jack Smith-Moore.
