WHY I BECAME A THERAPIST

As human beings, we all stumble on times when life is difficult, and sometimes we can feel misunderstood and lost. I wanted to aid people in finding their path again, while offering support, encouragement, and trust in a safe, non-judgmental space.

I BECAME A THERAPIST TO SUPPORT PEOPLE AS THEY EXPLORE THEIR EMOTIONS AND SHIFT THEIR BEHAVIORS TO MAKE POSITIVE CHANGES FOR THEIR FUTURE!

I BELIEVE THERAPY IS A JOURNEY IN WHICH THE CONNECTION BETWEEN CLIENT AND THERAPIST IS ESSENTIAL IN ORDER CREATE A SAFE SPACE TO BEGIN GROWING.

Therapy is a place where clients can find support and reassurance as they explore what gives gives their life meaning and what might be holding them back from finding happiness and fulfillment at this time.

When I work with clients, I incorporate THREE THINGS to create positive change:

collaboration | trust | meaning

I approach therapy through an existential lens and strive to build a supportive and trusting therapeutic relationship. I encourage clients to develop an understanding of what matters most to them and work on developing helpful coping skills to be able to face life challenges.a Through the process, we also will work on finding acceptance and creating a balance amidst life stressors.

WHO I WORK WITH

I work with individuals, and specialize in depression, anxiety, life difficulties related to neurodivergence, challenging relationship patterns, and the LGBTQ+ community.

I have experience with clients who come from a wide variety of backgrounds and have a variety of levels of need, whether that be in terms of physical ability, cultural competency, or presenting mental health symptoms.

HOW DO I KOW IF THERAPY IS WORKING?

The therapy journey is very individualized to each client’s unique needs. As a therapist, I always believe that therapy is “working” if the client is able to see something from a different perspective or gain a deeper understanding of their own needs. When we work together, we can discuss what signs would show you that therapy is “working” and can focus on those in our therapeutic process.
