WHY I BECAME A THERAPIST

Life has the tendency to throw curve balls. While these can be frightening, unpredictable, and difficult, the feeling of finally hitting the ball out of the park or overcoming this hardship is what makes our journey through life worth living. It is through the toughest times that people grow the most, and I am here to help you develop the confidence and empowerment to do so.

I BECAME A THERAPIST TO HELP PEOPLE REACH THEIR POTENTIAL AND FIND THE HAPPINESS AND INNER PEACE EVERYONE DESERVES.

There are many moments where extra support can make all the difference in the world. We can all use someone to support us through life’s tough moments. I love being able to build on client strengths and help clients gain new perspectives and develop new skills to help them create meaningful and long lasting change.

I use a collaborative, solution-focused, and strength-based approach. In therapy, you and I will partner together to  figure out what changes will best serve you and the life you want to live. I might have some ideas about  what could be helpful and offer tools or practical feedback to support you, but you get to make the decision about what your goals for therapy are.

When I work with clients, I incorporate THREE THINGS to create positive change:

collaboration | strengths | adaptive coping skills

I provide a non-judmental and safe space for you to express emotions, examine relationships, explore goals, discover your strengths, and much more. I carefully tailor my therapeutic approach and interventions to fit you and your unique needs. Therapy can be life-changing if the therapeutic relationship is collaborative and genuine and if you begin prioritizing you and your mental health.

WHO I WORK WITH

I work with individuals and teens experiencing depression, anxiety, relationship loss or break-ups, and self-esteem/self-worth struggles. I also work with people experiencing a Quarter-Life Crisis.

My area of expertise is working with young adults who are trying to make major life decision and struggling to navigate the transition into adulthood.

WHAT IF I DON'T SEE CHANGE RIGHT AWAY?

There is a reason we use the term ‘therapeutic process’. The process of change can take some time, although therapy will support you to learn specific skills and tools to empower you to make meaningful and lasting change. It just takes some time!
